9 June 2022

The Conveyancing Information Executive (CIE) has announced that GeoPlace has become an Industry Partner of the trade body organisation.

GeoPlace is a limited liability partnership owned equally by Local Government Association (LGA) and Ordnance Survey (OS). GeoPlace is responsible for collating, managing and maintaining the primary UK authoritative geospatial address and street data, and is recognised world-wide as an established expert in managing address data and its associated infrastructure.

Nick Chapallaz, Managing Director of GeoPlace, commented on joining the Conveyancing Information Executive (CIE), “Becoming an Industry Partner of CIE recognises our recent work with their members on showcasing the value of Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs). We’ve recently attended CIE roundtables and worked on podcasts to discuss the value UPRNs can deliver in speeding up the conveyancing process. We look forward to working with CIE on this in the future.”

Chris Loaring, Director of CIE, said, “The CIE welcomes GeoPlace as an Industry Partner who will bring new and unique insights and expertise on UPRNs, which will further support CIE in continuing to push for conveyancing sector adoption of UPRNs and progressing the conveyancing process towards ‘digital’ first delivery across residential property markets.”

The overall purpose of the CIE is to raise data quality and content standards in property searches used within the UK conveyancing process. Its membership includes Argyll Environmental, Geodesys, Groundsure, Landmark Information, Ordnance Survey, PinPoint Information, SearchFlow, Ambiental, Glenigan, JBA Risk Management and Barbour ABI.

The CIE welcomes membership applications from all organisations that support the UK’s conveyancing industry. For more information regarding membership, visit www.conveyinfoexec.com
