Land Data is a Community Interest Company appointed by government to manage and regulate the National Land Information Service (NLIS) and its contracts. This makes NLIS the only regulated electronic land and property searches portal and the official gateway to every local authority in England and Wales.

Land Data's mission is to improve and speed up housing transactions. It does this by working closely with a range of government and industry partners to advise, educate and promote the use of authoritative data and, specifically, local authority searches.
